  • Flagstar Bank’s Sierra White Found Her Networking Best Friend In Caerusnet

Flagstar Bank’s Sierra White Found Her Networking Best Friend In Caerusnet

Sierra White, Caerusnet Ann Arbor Tuesday 1PM member with Flagstar Bank.

Flagstar Bank believes in crafting great relationships with its customers.  No other Michigan bank has as many branch managers as members in Caerusnet than Flagstar.  It’s a testimony the bank’s universal belief that being approachable and visible in the community holds the key to being able build solid relationships with local businesspeople.

Sierra White is a branch manager for Flagstar Bank in Ann Arbor and has been an outstanding member for several years on the Ann Arbor Tuesday 1PM Caerusnet team facilitated by Caerusnet founder, Steven Zyskowski.  The two recently had an opportunity to connect and share her Flagstar Bank experience and her inspiring Caerusnet story.

How long have you been in your profession? 22 years

How did you get into this field? My senior year in high school through the co/op program.

What is the best thing about your business/career? Having the opportunity to help my customers achieve their financial goals.

What is it about the Caerusnet model that you like most? I enjoy the structure of the entire meeting.  Starting the meeting with the positive focus is always a great way to kick start the meeting and hear about all the positive things happening with my fellow members.

Can you share a success story about why giving referrals/bringing visitors are beneficial to you?  Passing referrals is a great way to build relationships within the team. One situation in particular that still sits deep in my heart is when I referred my mother to the realtor in our group.  While I was still very new to the group, I knew that Barbara Zinser would create a great experience for my mother during her home buying process.  And she did just that!  Since then, I feel that I have built a great relationship with Barbara and we are both able to refer to each other so easily.  She is my Caerusnet “best friend!”  That’s what being in Caerusnet is all about, finding your best friend in networking.

What is your strategy with your member minute and your spotlight presentation? I usually try to find a way to connect with my team.  Speaking about a promotion that we are offering that I know can truly benefit someone.  But more than that, always offering my services which is one of a kind!

Do you have any tips on how to be successful in Caerusnet?
Trust builders, trust builders and more trust builders!  They are the key to your success in the group.  Relationship building with my fellow team members is what makes Caerusnet so great!

Can you share how Caerusnet members have positively influenced you or your business besides passing referrals?  The members of my Caerusnet team always have such positive things to say about me.  Although I work for Flagstar, the opportunity to be in Caerusnet is really about the experiences and relationships that I am building as the banker in the group.  I feel the members of my Caerusnet team know that they can count on me to provide an exceptional experience to anyone I am given the opportunity to help.

Top 5 Benefits of Caerusnet Online Facilitated Referral Teams

Caerusnet Founder Steven Zyskowski and Wendy Caverly of Caerusnet Connections discuss the benefits of being a member of a local, facilitated referral team that also does its team meetings online.

Both Steve & Wendy facilitate all of their team meetings online.  One of the wonderful things about Caerusnet, is that the Facilitator of each team makes the decision as to the format they feel works best for them: in-person, hybrid and/or online.

It’s a brave new world and it’s not all bad!

  • “You’re a photographer? I’ve been looking for you!” Staying Connected with Christina Kafkakis & Steven Zyskowski

“You’re a photographer? I’ve been looking for you!” Staying Connected with Christina Kafkakis & Steven Zyskowski

Learning how to “create opportunities” is one of the major mottos at Caerusnet.

Approximately 10 years ago, Caerusnet founder, Steven Zyskowski, took notice that a photographer had pulled up to the other side of a gas pump while he was gassing up his vehicle at a local Speedway.  He noticed the magnetic sign advertising photography services and likes to practice what he preaches.  So, instead of letting the potential opportunity of meeting a photographer die by not speaking up, Zyskowski decided to take a small risk and introducing himself.

As karma and vibe would have it, Christina was already on the conscious track of wanting to network in the local community as her kids were just getting to an age where she felt comfortable getting daycare.

She visited a Caerusnet Brighton team after meeting Steve and promptly joined.  Since then, Christina has been a multiple MVP member in Caerusnet.  She’s just as serious about wanting to grow her business as she is at wanting to make a positive impact in the community by referring other local professionals to her clients, family and friends.

In this 10ish minute YouTube video, Christina and Steve discuss how they met, the impact it’s made in her life and how to take advantage of membership on Caerusnet Online Facilitated Referral Teams.

  • Caerusnet Member Breakfast Photo Gallery & RECAP

Caerusnet Member Breakfast Photo Gallery & RECAP

On June 30th, well over 100 Caerusnet Members and guests attended the first annual Caerusnet Member Breakfast at the Crystal Gardens banquet center in Howell.  Caerusnet spared no expense by offering the most deluxe breakfast buffet the Crystal Gardens offered. Devonna Snowden (Crystal Gardens / Brighton Wednesday 8AM) was busy promoting the event long before it kicked off and the turnout was fantastic.

The Members and guests had an incredible morning reconnecting, making new relationships and enjoyed sharing the morning together.  Caerusnet’s Steven Zyskowski, Chuck Dodge and Karyn Kokeny all gave uplifting presentations to an inspired audience who, during the pandemic, had been starved of in-person networking.

The Member Breakfast was exactly what everyone needed to fill their buckets.  Caerusnet Brighton Wednesday 10AM team’s newest Member, Dr. Shawn, rocked the house with his awesome Caerusnet branded photo booth (leave a review for Shawn here), which provided tons of enjoyment at the event.

Enjoy this awesome photo gallery (courtesy of DJ Shawn) and you can watch a recording of Caerusnet’s Founder, Steve Zyskowski’s opening presentation on YouTube.

  • Emily Evolves As A Networker In Caerusnet

Emily Evolves As A Networker In Caerusnet

Health coach and yoga instructor, Emily Vanderhovel, joined the Caerusnet Brighton Tuesday 8AM team in September, 2020 – six months into the pandemic. She was invited to visit the team by Dr. Aaron Banister from Two Roads Wellness (the chiropractor on the team and multi team MVP). He recognized that Emily was getting ready to market her business locally and that he held the key to inviting her into his referral universe at Caerusnet. This was especially valuable during a time when making new connections was difficult.  We had a chance to speak with Emily to get a sense of what she’s experienced in her first nine months of Membership with Caerusnet.

How did you get into this field?

I originally started going to yoga to help heal a shoulder injury and ended up finding so many physical AND mental benefits from it. I was hooked and decided this was something I was very passionate about and wanted to share with the world!

What is the best thing about your business/career?

Watching people heal in different ways! Some physically, some mentally. It is so inspiring watching people who are new to yoga or who think their bodies aren’t “meant” for yoga see just how awesome and capable their bodies are!

How are you different and/or what’s your niche?

I love teaching in a way that is very gentle and fun for every age and level! I am trained specifically in accessible yoga, chair yoga, and dementia yoga on top of my RYT-200. I love working one on one with people to find custom movement that feels good in their body.

What is it about the Caerusnet model that you like most?

The more we get to know each other, you find just how much you may have in common with someone in a completely different field than you. You find how, together, we are stronger and connected. Between Member Minutes and Trust Builders, you can really get to know people on a more personal level and build a strong rapport with one another.

Tips on how to be successful in Caerusnet?

Always show up and even more importantly, show up as your authentic self to attract your ideal clients! People can easily read through inauthenticity. Be you and be proud of what you do!

Share how your Caerusnet Members have positively influenced you or your business besides passing referrals.

I had a trust builder with another Member who has been doing this much longer than me and was able to mentor me on ways to help build my business and gain confidence in myself as well!

The line-up of live speakers at ReferralTopia was second to none.  Steven Zyskowski, founder of Caerusnet and creator of ReferralTopia, kicked the day off with an inspiring presentation and gave instructions on how to based tackle the full day of networking.   Doug Moffat, owner of The Moffat Group (leadership coaching and defensive insurance specialist, Caerusnet Facilitator in Brighton, Ann Arbor & Detroit), kicked the day off with an amazing presentation about Humble Inquiry.  Later in the early afternoon, best selling author and entrepreneur, Lisa Mininni, presented on Human Wiring.  The final presenter was best selling author, TedX speaker and Forbes contributing columnist,  Stan Phelps.  Stan is well known for his best selling Goldfish series of books and his presentation was about “Lagniappe” – doing the extra, little things that add up to a differentiated experience.  To watch the replays of these presentations, click here:  https://caerusnet.com/referraltopia-2021-live-presenters-replay/

The ReferralTopia planning team: Roger (top left), Minesh (bottom left), Julie Palmer (bottom right) and Steve (upper right).

ReferralTopia took a lot of planning to pull off.  There was no format to follow, so, as usual, Caerusnet blazed a new trail.  This event would not have been possible without the commitment made by the ReferralTopia planning team: Julie Palmer, JemEvents; Roger Burnett, Social Good Promotions, and Minesh Baxi.  Thank you to all who attended and promoted #ReferalTopia2021.  We can’t wait to do it again next year!
